"People" Watching

I had a hair appointment today, and I took my six-year-old along. Let's face it--sibling harmony is sometimes just a little bit better when she comes with me instead of staying at home.

She was very good at the salon. She spent a good part of the time looking out the window at my hairdresser's dogs. She then turned her attention to the stack of magazines.

After a few minutes of looking, she ran over to me. "Look, Mommy!" she said, holding up a copy of People magazine. "I found some people I know!"

She quickly started flipping pages. "It's Salena Gomez!" she said. "And here.." she turned another couple of pages, "It's Gabriella and Troy!"

I tell you--this kid is all girl! She has how to handle herself in a beauty salon DOWN!

Her comment made me think. I mean, how many copies of People have I bought for that very reason--because I "found" someone I "know"?

*Author's note--Obviously I buy People Magazine out of a deep sense of compassion and concern for the lives of those whose stories it contains. As I am sure do all of my friends!
