A "Future" Conversation

J and I were chatting in the car today, and somehow the subject turned to potential career choices.

"What do you think I'll be when I grow up, Mommy?" she asked.

"Hmm, that's a really good question.  I don't know," was my response.

She never lets me get away with that.

"Come on, Mommy.  Please??  Tell me what you think I'll be!"

"Well you really like animals, so maybe you'll be a veternarian."

"Or maybe I'll be a people doctor." We just read about Elizabeth Blackwell in science today.

"That's a good idea! Or you could be a nurse," I said.  "Or a teacher."

"Yeah," she replied.  "Or, maybe I'll work at Wal Mart!"

Ah, yet another parenting test... remaining positive no matter what your child thinks he or she might want to do for a living. ;)

Happy Birthday!

Dreaming big! I love it! For awhile Stella was telling people she wanted to work at the Carnival!
