Okay--I am sitting here feeling melancholy. For no reason, whatsoever! And I'm sure none of you want to hear it, but this is where I process...so here goes. But out of respect for those who have it MUCH WORSE than I do, I will try to also give you the bright side. Or you can just skip this entry. Your choice.
~I am looking at a trashed kitchen. That I get to clean for the third time today!!
bright side: I have a lovely kitchen, and the mess that needs to be cleaned up is dinner. We had dinner tonight. Which is more than lots of people around the world can say.
~My husband was gone all last week for his job. He leaves again tomorrow to be gone most of next week for his job.
bright side: He is rarely gone for more than a week, is almost always home on the weekends, and has a job to go to.
~I am having a crisis of faith.
bright side: If you're going to have a crisis of faith, the United States of America is a pretty nice place to live. Lots of options, and no persecution.
~Both my brother and my sister (in Kosovo) called me this week, and I was unable to take either of their calls!
bright side: My sister is deployed during the age of technology. We can talk often. My brother and sister and I have a pretty good relationship, and they wanted to talk to me this week!
~parts of work are really not fun right now.
bright side: The families that I get to work with are fabulous! I am going to love each and every one of them!
~My oldest daughter went off to school for the first time this week.
bright side: she really seems to like it, and she was one of two students to get a perfect score on her English assignment. Which makes me feel good about my teaching skills up to this point!
~The house that I am in love with went on the market this week. And we don't have the time, energy, or the money to buy it right now.
bright side: we will save time, energy and money???
Okay--I feel a little bit better. Thanks for letting me vent. Maybe I can tackle that kitchen now. In fact, I think there might be just enough vodka and cranberry juice to make that possible...

Thank you for giving voice to your feelings. I need to be reminded often how important that is.

I was just about to post a "help me be thankful even though..." post, so this fits right in. Either that, or it is going to look like I'm copying you. Oh well...
I love how you are looking at the bright side of things as well...constatly focus on the good and life seems so much better.
I hope the frustrating things start to turn around.
Vodka and Cranberry...great suggestion!!!
