For changing the view/role of the American woman.
Now, when my dishwasher breaks, I have confidence that I can open the dishwasher; diagnose the problem; call Whirlpool and order replacement parts; put the cost on MY credit card (not so cool); and then--once the part arrives, replace the broken part with the new one. ALL BY MYSELF!!
Hubby will come home from his trip and never realize it was broken!
Now I'm thinking its time to change the view/role of the American man with "Davie the Domestic Daddy."
He would be able to cook dinner, rinse the dishes, find the dish washing detergent, load the dishwasher, and clean up the kitchen ALL BY HIMSELF!!
And this icon is very much needed, as C just came in, saw N making brownies and said, "What are you doing? And why isn't Mom or M doing that?"

I'm so proud of you!
But let me know if you work out that role-reversal thing. . . At Casa Diggs, the unspoken rule seems to be that if you do it once, the job is yours for all eternity. Fine for nursing babies. A bit of a drag when it comes to automotive repair.
