Author's note: This shopping mission came complete with instructions, recommended brands for first shoes, non-recommended brands for first shoes, supplies to get, etc. Leave it to us to need a brand of shoe that is on the "not-recommended" list! I believe I am nicely preparing the "next generation" to be the "exception to the rule!"
