You Know You Are An Old Married Couple When...

Today--I can say today because I haven't been to bed yet--is my 13th wedding anniversary. You know you are an old married couple when...

  1. You buy deck furniture at 50% off two weeks prior to the "big day" and justify it by saying it is your "anniversary present" to each other.

  2. You are up for a good half hour before either one of you remembers that it is your anniversary.

  3. The thing that reminds you is your oldest daughter's orthodontist appointment that afternoon.

  4. One of you leaves for work at 6 am because of a big project, the other one cleans out the refrigerator at 6am because the smell is now so bad that no one can stand it anymore.

  5. You keep forgetting that it is your anniversary--until cards show up in the mail, and people call to wish you a happy day.

  6. You hope your better half is keeping his part of the bargain and NOT getting you a card or a gift, because you don't have the time--or the energy--to get him one.

  7. He kept his part of the bargain.

  8. Both of you work non-stop until 8pm.

  9. Your anniversary "date" consists of splitting a dessert at Applebees in sweats and a T-shirt with no makeup, whatsoever (I think I brushed my teeth and put on deoderant, today, though. That was my gift to him :o) ).

  10. He is snoring soundly--and you are up blogging.

I'm not sure when that kicks in exactly, but I can pretty much say ditto for 10 years!
