Gooshy Sibling Love

(kids with their respective counselors)

Me, to oldest son on the way home from camp: "Your brother really missed you this week."

Oldest daughter from back of car: "Did he miss me, too?"

Me, because honesty is always the best policy, right?: "Well, actually, when Daddy asked him if he was ready for you guys to come home, he said that he missed his brother but you could stay at camp for another week."

(Older brother and friend are now laughing so hard in the car that I think they might wet their pants.)

Oldest daughter, outraged: "That is so MEAN! I am not going to give him the hat I got for him, now!"

(Boys are still laughing hysterically. Daughter bops each on the head.)

All children are home, all is now right in my world.

Author's note: What goes around does come around, as oldest daughter sent postcards to both younger siblings while at camp, and only the postcard for her sister arrived. The one for her brother has yet to appear in the mail. Which made him very sad.
